Frequently Asked Questions
Payments and invoices
- All payment and invoices must be paid for by the allocated date – failure to do so with result in a 5% surcharge being added.
- All private lesson are to be paid for prior to the commence on the class.
- All payments whether cash or cheque must be submitted in an envelope.
- All cheques to be made payable to ‘Sarah Deighton’.
Re-imbursements cannot be given for lessons missed. Similarly, if a period of absence occurs during term time through no fault of The Sarah Louise School of Dance or dance teacher we are un-able to deduct from the invoice regardless of notification. No refunds will be given for missed classes. Classes cancelled due teachers own absence through illness or personal reasons will be made up. When you register your child for classes you agree to the schools terms and conditions. Our payment policy still stands and if you wish to terminate classes, we require half a terms notice in advance. As stated refunds are not provided for students, sickness, injury, school trips, holidays etc. This includes Coronavirus. If classes are temporarily cancelled for any reason, we will offer a replacement class instead, online and no refund will be given. If a teacher at the dance studio contracts Coronavirus and has to self-isolate, as well as letting you know, we will try our best to keep classes running with another teacher or classes will then take place via Zoom or by a pre recorded video link until normal classes can resume. If lockdown is reintroduced, classes will revert to Zoom or by a pre recorded video link immediately. The timetable may adjust slightly to combine some of the separate groups but will roughly be the same. No refunds will be given.
Up to date contact information and consent form
Please ensure the contact information you have provided The Sarah Louise School of Dance with when registering your child is up to date so we can contact you if we need to. By sending your child to classes you also agree for us to contact you should we need to regarding a case of coronavirus in your child's class. By sending your child to class you also consent for us to share your information to Track and Trace if needed.
Uniform
- The correct RAD uniform must be worn for all syllabus lessons. A uniform look book is available to view on the notice board.
- No jewellery or watches to be worm whilst dancing (small stud earrings only)
- Male Pupils – If you have longer hair styles it must be neatly tied back
- Long/ sideways fringes must be secured neatly back in all lessons.
- Children should be correctly groomed for ballet classes, with their hair tied up and preferably in a bun.
Code of Conduct
All students are expected to observe this code of conduct at all times.
On The School Premises
- No chewing gum allowed on the premises
- Please encourage students to drink water, as whilst exercising their bodies will need re-hydrating
- No food or drink with the exception of water to be taken into the dance studio.
- All student’s bags and clothes must be placed in the changing area only, please refrain from leaving items around on the floor. Do no block any doorways and exits. Do not leave any valuables unattended in the changing rooms.
- Please ensure you have all belongs with you before leaving the premises. Your belongings are your own responsibility. All belongings should be named to avoid confusion.
- Please place all rubbish in the bins provided.
- Please ensure that their child is handed over safely into my care. Students and children should not be left unsupervised on the premises if their ballet teacher is not present.
- Children should be accompanied into and out of the premises and are not allowed to cross the car park alone. Please respect school property and equipment. Any breakages or damage caused must be paid for.
Conduct and punctuality
- Punctuality is very important – Please be ready for the commencement of each class.
- You are expected to act in a courtesy manner to staff and fellow students at all times. Any form of bullying will not be tolerated. You should be friendly, respectful and helpful to each other.
- You are expected to support, encourage and work sensibly with your fellow class mates at all times.
- Any injury or pain incurred during class should be reported to the teacher immediately so that they can help you with the problem. If you are ill or injured it is your responsibility to stop, notify the teacher and seek help.
- You must warm-up prior to class, this is for your own safety and will prevent and un-necessary injury occurring.
- Pupils enrolled with The Sarah Louise School of Dance are exclusively trained – Therefore no attendance to any other dance school will be permitted
- All extra curricular dance based activities must be agreed with prior to application.
